photoshop? I'm not sure but this looked legit to me. So are they (game developers) all going to put this kind of message into their games to discourage users from playing too much? Imagine if Elder Scroll: Oblivion has this message installed so it flashed a red sign saying "You played too much, please take a rest"?

I'm in law school right now and I absolutely gurantee you that's why it's there.

As long as they dont cut me off I couldnt give a crap. Hell I'll play non stop all day when Ive got no work! (might do this tommorow if you wanna have a laugh) I'll occaisionally have a cup of coffee or a sandwich. The best time to play in the Uk is during the weekdays as you get better PUGs!
Hell if they start cutting people off for being on too long THK and hells precipice will be even harder! The time I've spent waiting around in those places

We should have a contest, to see who can post a genuine "Please take a break" message with the highest number of hours (without using Photoshop).

Heh, I wonder if the message gets more urgent as you increase the hours.

I've only reached the 'you have been playing for 2 hours' so far. I just can't stay logged on with the same character long enough to get further

Perhaps its time to go afk in the guild hall overnight and see what happens

You have been playing for 92 hours, but astigmatism is gonna get you anyway once you reach 50 years old, so much HMO yet so little life spent in the glorious world of Tyria. Please keep on playing.

Now, somewhere, someone, is farming the biggest longest stretch of hours that they have been on continuously, and will post it on this forum as proof of their "accomplishment".

Perhaps when you reach 666hours of farming the Underworld if you have the:
Tattered Cape
Broken Flute
The other item...

The vision of Gwen appears and leads you to the place the smites hid all the ecto

Just got my message about 5 minutes ago:

I don't recall how long I was actually playing. I do know that I logged in this morning and left the character sitting in Thirsty River lobby for about 1.5 hours. Then I started playing a bit after that.

I'm wondering if they track movement or just time since you logged in. I guess I could log out and back in to see if the counter is reset. They must be more sophisticated then that...

Its kind of weird the time is there as a Warning and I am sure silly people are going to start to post stupid things like, look been on for 24hours beat that, and crap like that.

We back to Kindergarten? Or maybe some haven’t left it yet.

If it warns you that you been 8 hours playing non stop, if I was you I would STOP and have a good look around.

And if u left it on just to clock 8hours or more than we back to the Kindergarten comment.

Just leaving my opinion.

Being an absurd insomniac, this sort of thing might actually amuse me late at night.

its sad that people are so irresponsible and unwilling to accept being at fault that companies must do things like this to protect themselves.

EDIT- Hey! I do that exercise bike thing! well sort of, I have a just front flywheel with pedals on it.(thats what one gets for working full time on a computer and playing video games at night.)

So true. People are so afraid of admitting faults, they would rather blame everyone ELSE in the world before they look at themselves. Its the Hot Coffee syndrome.

The funniest thing about all these "don't put your cat into the microwave" type of warning messages is not that they take us for completely stupid but that we are actually stupid enough to think they are necessary...

How braindead has the world become if a computer game now tells me not to play it anymore?

myself i find it very annoying.its bad enougth having hoh results keep flashing up while i'm adventuring, now this aswell.and you can't resist but look over incase its a guild/whisper message, which imo is very distracting to some players.

i do understand the legal issue theory but isn't that why most firms label there products with stand-out warnings, unlike the gw packaging.or do we think this is an effort to correct the mistake of not applying any health warnings to gw's box.

i hope they start labeling the boxes for factions and beyond so they can then remove this feature.or at least give us the option to turn it off, that way they are exempt, and also while i'm at it the option to turn off hoh results would also be nice.
